Portion of Rothenberg parent survey (CLICK)
In an effort to engage parents in the discussion of a future community learning center for Over-the-Rhine, Rothenberg School has sent them a survey in their childrens' report cards.
The survey, which is being conducted in a partnership with the neighborhood group Over-the-Rhine Education in Public Schools (OTREPS), asks a series of short essay questions about what makes the school special, how it can best reflect the neighborhood, how it could be more welcoming and safe, and what kinds of things would help their children learn best.
This is followed by two sections (image above) - building/grounds and programs - where parents are asked to choose six features from each category that they'd like to see at the renovated school.
As a bonus, the school is offering a $25 Kroger gift card to anyone who drops off a survey by April 23.
That evening, the winner will be announced at Rothenberg's Lasagna Night for Parents.
The survey is part of a process is to to gather neighborhood and community council representatives, school staff, Rothenberg partners, parents and students to decide what types of programs should be offered when the building is renovated under Cincinnati Public Schools' community learning center initiative.
Answers to the questions will be considered in the building design process.
