Cause of death: A two-alarm fire that occurred on December 7, due to food being left attended on the stove. Forty firefighters were on the scene for several hours, but the bulk of the fire was out within 30 minutes. The rear portion of the structure was in danger of collapse. Damage estimates were $80,000. There were no injuries, but both residents were displaced. Three out of the four family pets were killed.
