Cincinnati City Council unanimously approved funding for the acquisition and demolition of up to twelve blighted buildings in Westwood.
The buildings, which are mostly along the Harrison Avenue corridor, were targeted by the Westwood Civic Association and Westwood Concern for being plagued by criminal activity, a high number of police calls for service and City requests for barricading.
Slated for demolition are:
* 2111, 2232, 2487, 2497, 2551, 2614, 2841 and 2897-2901 Harrison Avenue
* 3025 Westwood Northern Boulevard
* 3100 McHenry Avenue
* 3231 Daytona Avenue
The $250,000 in demolition costs will come from the City's hazard abatement fund.
