Freep: Driving Detroit

Now THIS was an ambitious assignment.

Columnist Bill McGraw of the Detroit Free Press spent a portion of several months driving all 2,100 off Detroit's streets.

The idea was to get a street-level view of what wrong and what's right with the city, and the result was a five-part series that not only includes creeping blight, but also the indomitable spirit of its citizens.

Would anyone care to try a local version? I'll publish it right here.

It just occurred to me that there are still many streets in my own City that I've never even seen.
